ELIGIBILITY

Robofest is open to any team or student regardless of their place of residence, university or school. Each team representing a university or school may have up to five members. Three competitions will be held under the three categories mentioned below;

RULES

The official set of rules for the competition may be found in the technical specifications section in the respective category. It is essential that the participants read the set of rules carefully, several times. Participants may contact the organizing committee in case of any problem regarding the rules or competition.

The organizing committee has the right to make minor changes in the rules regarding the competition in case an issue arises in some aspect. Changes will not be made unless it is extremely essential for the best of the competition.

INFORMATION

SCHOOL COMPETITION

Line following robots built by school students’ teams should work efficiently on a platform that would be given on the day of the competition. The team whose robot would move towards the goal in the minimum time, would win the competition.

UNDERGRADUATE COMPETITION

Robots that are able to follow lines, detect, carry and place objects & climb stairs (where the dimensions would be specified before hand), built by undergraduate students from all around Sri Lanka should compete on a platform given on the day of the competition. The team whose robot that would excel in all three tasks, reaching and successfully stopping on the final goal taking the least time would win the competition.

OPEN COMPETITION

A vehicle has to complete as many figure 8’s as possible around two poles within a specific time of 3 minutes. During the time vehicle has to remain mainly within the flying height below 1.5m above the ground. For further details and specifications follow the technicle document
